Dance + Plants = Plance Camp!

Join Hayley Shannon and Amy Mcaskill for a memorable week of movement and making. This is dance, inspired by plants — a unique camp combining two of our favorite topics. Each day campers will learn about a plant that grows locally in our archipelago to bring its amazing properties to life through creative movement. Campers learn dance concepts such as size, speed and energy to give them tools for creative expression as a soloist and in collaboration with others. Imagine dancing the calming presence of chamomile or the bright character of calendula. Campers will make plant inspired crafts including salves and flower mandalas! Time for unstructured free play as well as afternoon down time in the shade of Salmonberry’s mature grove of trees will provide a respite from the summer sun.

Camp will take place entirely outdoors at Salmonberry School. Further camp specifics will be shared with participants prior to camp.

Masks are required as is adherence to all standard Covid protocols of masks, distancing, and frequent hand washing.

When: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM -3:00 PM, August 16-20 for ages 5-8. 4 years olds will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Camp cost is $300
