Playing with Words Poetry Camp, ages 8-12
July 4 - July 8$300.00
Playing with Words Camp – Imagination, Exploration, and Wonder with Aliza Diepenbrock and Indira Dahlstrom
For children ages 8-12 years old.
Ada Limón says, “language can also be play and music and beauty and desire and grief and rage and truth…” Holding language in this expansive way, over the week we’ll explore the different ways that language lives in our environment by listening to and noticing poetry in our daily life. Whether you are new to writing or already love it, we’ll all learn different ways to express ourselves and tell our stories. We’ll play word games, wander beaches, draw, paint, run, hop, and maybe even twirl.
Camp will run from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm Monday – Friday at Salmonberry School
Children should bring a backpack containing a water bottle, hearty snack and lunch, sturdy shoes, hat/sunscreen, and a change of clothes. Camp instructors will provide more information in their welcome email the week prior to the start of camp.
Camp cost is $300
