Island Adventures Camp, ages 6-10
July 11 - July 15$300.00
Island Adventures Camp with Emma Freedman and Georgia Smith
Children will spend the week immersed in the essence of an island summer. Grounding their experience in art and collaborative play, they will build meaningful relationships with each other and their island environment. Although much of the camp will take place at Salmonberry, children will also have the opportunity to explore the rocky beaches in and around Eastsound, and enjoy the sports fields and play structures at Buck Park. In these unique island settings, they will engage in a variety of physical activities including cooperative games and community-building activities designed to facilitate social and emotional learning. In addition to deepening children’s connection with each other and their island home, the camp will include an introduction to painting, drawing, sculpture, collage, and textile work. These creative projects will allow space for children to relax and process their experience.
Camp will run from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm Monday through Friday at Salmonberry School and nearby locales.
Children should bring a backpack containing a water bottle, hearty snack and lunch, sturdy shoes, hat/sunscreen, and a change of clothes. Camp instructors will provide more information in their welcome email the week prior to the start of camp.
Camp cost is $300.
