Tuition Solutions

Investing Together

We work hard to keep our tuition affordable for islanders.

For over 20 years, we have offered need-based tuition assistance, allowing us to open our doors to hundreds of families and ensuring that we are able to enroll students regardless of a family’s financial circumstances. We understand you are making an investment in your child’s education and we join you in making that investment.

According to data from national and regional associations for independent schools, Salmonberry’s tuition and fees average just 20-40% of those for other independant schools which offer similar student:teacher ratios in tandem with high quality instruction and experiential learning opportunities.

Financial Aid – Individualized Solutions

We strive to ensure that Salmonberery reflects the economic diversity of our island community.

Financial Aid awards are made on a need-based sliding scale that balances a family’s need with the financial integrity of the school. We recognize that every family situation is different and that even a small Financial Aid award can make a critical difference.

  • Step ONE: The first step in realizing a Financial Aid award is to apply through School and Student Services (SSS). This step is part of our admissions and re-enrollment process. An enrollment application for your child must be received prior to financial assistance determination.
  • Step TWO: Financial Aid awards are determined by the school’s Finanial Aid Committee from the recommendations made by SSS.
  • Step THREE: Families are informed of an award as soon as possible. Families must reapply for Financial Aid awards on an annual basis.

Sibling Discount

When a family has more than one child attending Salmonberry, the family may request a 10% discount for each younger child. Full rate is paid on the higher amount. This applies to tuition only and does not apply to program fees.

We also offer targeted scholarships for BIPOC families who are interested in attending Salmonberry. Salmonberry supports racial and ethnic equity and aspires to be a leader in the community as we work toward greater inclusivity, social justice and anti-racism.
